On my home town..

Sorry guys for my absence but I was on vacations and I decided to give a few days off to my computer. Coming with a computer would ruin the idea that I have of vacations: being totally out from everything. Nevertheless as I will return to Lisbon only on September I decided to take advantage of being in my home town in middle August, to do stuff that otherwise would be impossible, such as taking pictures at the " Escadas Monumentais" without anyone around. During the year they are filled up with students running late for the classes or tourists taking pictures due to the fact it's one boundary of the old town. It's known by being the fastest, however not the easiest, way to get to the University. If you are planning to visit Coimbra, I deeply recoomend one short trip to the University and to these stairs. They will take you there ;)

P.S. This shoes were the first item I got during Zara sales in Lisbon, I felt in love with them at the beginning of the season but I always thought they were way to expensive..

So this is what I choose to wear to Madonna show last week a comfortable yet fabulous as Madonna would do. It was a lovely evening for which I want to thank my friends who offered me the ticket. 

Also I want to comment on the fantastic show she created pretty different and also bit dark. But the clothes oh the clothes she wore were soo Madonna soo great but my favorite was of course the metallic cone bra corset from Jean Paul Gautier she wore while singing Vogue! I think it was the best to revive the old Madonna days as she already wore a pink pointy corset playing Vogue in the 90's.

  And here to you I present Mr. Peanut my dear dog who wanted to appear in all pictures!

Minimal + classic = New Dior?

This morning a feníx was reborn is Paris on Avenue d’Iéna, surrounded with flowers with different colors for each room. Raf Simons (formally known as the Jill Sander designer) presented his first collection for maison Dior and I was quite impressed with the result.

His minimalism of colors was the perfect match with Dior former extravaganza creating a unique collection ruled by the simplicity and actually bringing back the old French glamour the maison was known for. During the show we were able to revisit the Dior classics in the eyes of the designer through the ultra feminine dresses with the classical Dior siluet. Also peplum tops, cigarrete pants and one color structured dresses were the great example that this classical yet minimalist vision created by Raf is possible and made the maison reborn from the ashes left by Galliano.

Since I’m a big Galiano fan I always thought Dior wouldn’t be the same after he left but for sure my opinion has changed. Although it wasn’t that much couture like (times change), the designer was just what the maison needed to break from the past and begin a new era.

Some years ago I felt in love with this D&G top and actually I never found the right occasion to wear it and well it seemed that yesterday was it! Later today I will make a post with my birthday gifts :)

Summer kind of wonderful

It seems my first year in Lisbon is over and now it's time to rest and enjoy my long vacations! Actually I still don't have anything planed but lets go with the flow for now! See you in September Madragoa ;)
